Maxwell Ryan

Hi my name is Maxwell, but everyone calls me Max! I was born in Barrington, Illinois at Good Shepherd Hospital (hmmm… doesn’t that sound familiar?). Then I grew up in Plymouth, MI just a few miles from where Lauren lived in Novi.

Growing up in Michigan was a blast with both of my younger brothers, Paul and Mark. I was also lucky to have many amazing friends who I am still close with today. If I have free time, I love playing sports or video games, reading, and taking Benni the dog for a walk.

Since graduating from the University of Michigan, I have been working as a Naval Architect & Marine Engineer in Seattle, Washington. Life in Seattle is amazing. Lauren and I find time to sight see and explore the city, along with seeing our friends, both old and new. I have been a lucky man to have met Lauren and to share these experiences with her!

"SINK OR SWIM,
we're in this together babe."

Lauren Echelmeyer

Hola! The name is Lauren. I was born in Barrington, Illinois at Good Shepherd Hospital (I’ve heard of that place…). I was raised in Lake Zurich, Illinois with my two brothers Eddie & Henry. Growing up in Lake Zurich was a wonderful experience, going to dance class and knowing my two best childhood friends Richie & Kelly.

At the age of six we moved to Novi, MI and there I grew up loving the sport of Softball. I graduated from Eastern Michigan University with a B.F.A. in Graphic Design and a minor in Marketing. During my junior year, I was blessed to have met Max through a mutual friend. Our relationship has grown in the past 3 years and after living for a year in Seattle with Max, he proposed.

While in Seattle, I have volunteered at the St.James Cathedral. This has been a great opportunity to meet friends and grow with Max. We are looking forward to returning to Seattle after Max’s stint in D.C. and continuing our life together!

Ceremony Location

The ceremony location will be St. James Church in Novi, Michigan. Lauren's family has attended this church since 1996. She values her family’s religious beliefs and Max is excited to share in these traditions. http://sjnovi.net/

IMPORTANT: Family, please email loraxwedding@gmail.com in advance if you plan to bring children to the ceremony & reception. We are currently in the planning stages of inviting guests & this knowledge will be useful. Please include the number of children. Thank you!

Reception Location

We could not be more excited about the venue we have chosen! It embodies a classic, romantic ambience and the Victorian era. We focused on finding a low key and family oriented location that would remind us of the good old times during Thanksgiving and Christmas with family.

Long tables with family gathered for meals reminds Lauren of the famous Arrowhead Motel that her grandparents owned. Max likes the contrast of indoor and outdoor spaces that will be exquisite over the July 4th weekend.

Gift Registry

Since moving to Seattle we have enjoyed camping with friends (a.k.a. Nate and Ranger Cortney). In the future we hope to find more outdoor camp activities with all the friends we have made on the West Coast. We look forward to eventually taking a ski trip and going snowshoeing.

During our year long journey in Seattle we have also grown to love cooking together. We hope our new apartment will have a slightly bigger kitchen than our first place, but we are looking forward to continuing our cooking adventures. All of these considerations have gone into our registries, but honestly, the most important gift you can bring us is having you and your dancing shoes at our celebration. We are pumped to spend our special day with you and feel very blessed to have you in our lives!

A Coney Island is a type of restaurant popular in the northern United States, particularly in Michigan, as well as the name for the Coney Island hot dog after which the restaurant style is named
Border Cantina
We've been regulars here for years. The service has always been excellent and the food is delicious - depending on what you order.
Mr.Spots
Located in Ann Arbor. You must get the steak hoagie and the original philly cheesesteak with a sack of waffle fries. A place to die for, but be prepared to know what your ordering.
